Parihaka Poser

Years ago, there lived a tribe called ‘Parihaka.’ They lived in Taranaki.
One day an albatross flew onto the chief's house. The people decided that they should wear the feathers of the albatross because it was a spiritual bird and they thought it was good luck. One day soldiers came to Parihaka. The children of Parihaka did a welcoming dance for the soldiers, the women made bread. The soldiers felt really guilty because they were meant to take the men away to jail. They took the men to jail, and when it was time for them to come back, the soldiers trashed Parihaka! The people said "Once you leave, we will build again." The soldiers left. No one got harmed that day because the people of Parihaka declined to fight.
I enjoyed making the words and finding different colours.
I found it hard to make the albatross feather.
Next time I would add a colourful background.
